Dr. Matin Ng Chin Liang is a corporate person who plans corporate strategy, unleashes business
potential and elevates businesses. He graduated from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom with a
Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Accounting and Finance in 2014. In 2015, he obtained a Master of
Science (Distinction) in Accounting and Finance under full scholarship from the same university. In
2022, he graduated from Wawasan Open University with a Doctor of Business Administration. He has
been a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Malaysian Institute of
Accountants since 2017. He began his career with Deloitte PLT as an Audit Associate in 2015. He left
the accounting firm in 2016 and joined UWC Holdings.
He was the person behind the successful listing of UWC Berhad in the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia
in the year 2019. His expertise includes corporate finance, restructuring of companies, and financial
engineering. UWC Berhad was listed on 10th July 2019 with an initial market capitalization of RM 300
million and today, UWC is being valued at RM 3.6 billion. Subsequent to the listing of UWC, UWC is
named the best IPO in 2019 by The Edge Malaysia and was recognized as one of the companies in
the Forbes Asian 200 Best Under a Billion. In 2022, he lists another company under his family
portfolio which involved in the marketing of various branded medical devices and the developing, and
manufacturing of medical consumables such as the prefilled oxygen humidifier, disposable nebulizer,
UMedic Group Berhad in the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia with an initial market capitalization of RM
100 million and today it is valued at close to RM 300 million.
As a strong believer in talent and education, as part of the promotion of the United Nations
Sustainable Development Goal, Goal 4 Quality Education, Dr. Matin actively participates in various
advisory boards of tertiary education institutes. He is currently serving as Vice-Chairman of Penang
Skill and Development Centre (PSDC), a member of the Industry Advisory Committee, Politeknik
Seberang Perai, Ministry of Education, and a member of Institute-Industry Management Board, Institut
Latihan Perindustrian Arumgam Pillai Nibong Tebal, Jabatan Tenaga Malaysia, member of Technical
Advisory Committee, JMTI, Jabatan Tenaga Malaysia. Recently, he was appointed as a member of
Council of Experts the Government-Industry TVET Coordination Body (GITC). In closing the gap
between tertiary education institutes, he established an industry centre called UWC Education Centre
in Politeknik Seberang Perai where industry experts conduct classes twice a month.
