Alan was with PricewaterhouseCoopers (also known as ‘PwC’) in both Malaysia and Australia from 1995 to 2015, providing audit and business advisory services to large corporations, predominantly public listed companies and multinational corporations.

During this period, he was involved in special assignments such as Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), financial due diligence, and grant submissions.

Prior to leaving PwC, Alan spent the last 8 years focused on US GAAP and GAAS reporting (including SOX 404), covering US and Japanese multinational corporations involved in computer technology, electronic consumer products, and solar panel manufacturing and EPC-related businesses. He was also actively involved in audits of shared service centers.

He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). As an approved HRDF Certified Trainer, he has conducted various seminars and public workshops.

With over 25 years of experience in business advisory, accounting, and tax, Alan has enjoyed helping businesses, startups, and entrepreneurs in the digital space. Alan is a seasoned investor and entrepreneur who has played a key role in supporting the Penang State Government in developing the early-stage investing ecosystem. He is also a strong advocate for the growth of deep-tech and hard-tech startups.

As Chairman of the Penang Chapter of the Malaysian Business Angel Network (MBAN), he is looking to collaborate with those who are passionate about walking the digital transformation journey together.
