Dr. Mohd Hezri is the Acting Dean of the School of Technology & Engineering Science at Wawasan Open University (WOU), Malaysia, where he provides academic and strategic leadership across engineering and technology programmes.

He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), with research expertise in control systems, fractional-order control, optimisation and intelligent engineering systems. His academic and professional interests extend to Industry 4.0, IoT, automation, AI-enabled technologies and the development of future-ready engineering talent.

In his current leadership role, Dr Hezri is involved in curriculum development, quality assurance, industry engagement and the development of technology-focused academic programmes aligned with emerging industry needs. He has also been actively involved in initiatives connecting higher education with the evolving requirements of Malaysia’s manufacturing and technology sectors.

His work focuses on bridging engineering education, emerging technologies and industry transformation, with particular interest in how AI, IoT, automation and sustainable technologies can be translated into practical learning and workforce development.

Dr Hezri is passionate about developing future-ready professionals who can contribute effectively to the digital and sustainable transformation of advanced manufacturing.
