Dr. May Win Naing is the Director of the Advanced Manufacturing Cluster at ASTAR’s Science and Engineering Research Council, where she leads technology roadmaps and strategic R&D initiatives, including the recently launched AI Centre of Excellence in Manufacturing (AIMfg). Since joining ASTAR in 2013, she has founded and led major programmes such as the BioManufacturing Programme, advancing technologies for regenerative medicine, cellular agriculture, and consumer industries, while also contributing to strategic planning and policy.
With experience spanning academia and industry in Singapore and the UK, she actively engages the global research community through advisory and editorial roles, and currently serves as Advisor to the food-tech start-up Fattastic. Dr. Naing holds a PhD from Nanyang Technological University and has been recognised with national awards, including the COVID-19 Resilience Medal, for her contributions to Singapore.
