Gopi Ganesalingam is the Senior Vice President and Head of Industry and Ecosystem at the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), where he drives national strategies to accelerate digital industry growth, attract foreign direct investment, expand digital exports, and nurture Malaysian global tech champions. A Finance graduate and Fellow of CPA Australia, he brings over 37 years of diverse leadership experience spanning multinational corporations, government-linked agencies, and entrepreneurial ventures.

His career includes senior roles at Matsushita, American Express, Alcatel-Lucent, and Telstra, as well as building Lava Protocols, a go-to-market partner for Salesforce and Google, before joining MDEC in 2015. At MDEC, he was instrumental in initiatives such as GAIN, FOX, and Digital Exports, which boosted Malaysia’s global digital competitiveness. Beyond MDEC, Gopi contributes as an Independent Board Director at MCIS Life, Adjunct Professor at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU), and Chairman and Trustee of Junior Achievement Malaysia, championing financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment.
